Tattoo Pain and Tattoo Tips

When you get a tattoo did you know that they do not actually use ink? Instead, they use a special kind of pigment. It comes powdered, then they mix it with glycerin, alcohol and distilled water. When they tattoo you, it does not go through many layers of skin, it just penetrates the permanent layer of your skin.
The skin that they work on is the one that is exposed when you scratch a layer of skin off. It is no secret getting a tattoo is painful, however it is more painful in areas where the skin is more sensitive. These are areas like your thighs, the rib cage, your chest, your throat and your tummy too. Due to different spots being more exposed, you will feel it more in other areas than others.
The process is pretty standard but it is very important that before you let the artist ink you, check their portfolio as well any previous work if you have access to it. You do not want someone with no experience, messing up something that is going to remain permanent on your body.
The artists often use petroleum jelly which serves three very good purposes. You can use it to remove the excess pigment, it prevents the hand from sticking to the surface of the skin and finally it prevents bleeding from the capillaries, which is not very common but some times does happen.
The most common tattoos nowadays would be characters from the cartoons. Anything from Mickey Mouse, Road Runner, Superman, Donald Duck and even Bugs Bunny. You can also nowadays see more people with flower or tribal designs.
Sometimes after you get inked and you are in the shower you may think that the color is coming out. Do not be alarmed it is just your top skin layer shedding off. Even if you see what looks like peels, do not get concerned this is normal during this period of time. If you are worried about anything that may seem to be going on with your new tattoo do not hesitate just call your artist.
