A Guide To Tattoo Designs

If you are looking to get your first or your hundredth tattoo then this guide is for you. You will find numerous tips and advice designed to help you make the right choice. My philosophy is simple: it's ok to have a tattoo "just because it looks great", but for something that is a lifelong commitment, then I suggest you look for something with a deeper meaning or message. Remember, behind every great tattoo lies a great story.
In the last 20 years we have seen the move of tattoos from the fringe dwellers to mainstream society. Of course, the obvious reason is imitating your favourite pop star or actor. Just think how many people saw tattoos in a different light after David Beckham, Pink and Angeline Jolie got inked.
Also, stats now indicate that women outnumber men when it comes to getting inked. Many women have also become successful tattooist, which has brought about a marked improvement.
The competition between tattooist for your dollar is fierce, and with the worldwide economy struggling, and because tattoo design has evolved to be regarded as an art form and tattooist have become highly skilled artists who are not just doing their apprenticeship at a parlour but are coming out of universities with visual art degrees, there is no better time than now to get tattooed.
So, what you have to decide is the reason for getting your first or next tattoo. Do you want something to show your independence, individuality, or perhaps in remembrance of a special occasion such as birth or death of a loved one? If you want my advice don't rush into it, understand your tattoo is a lifelong commitment, and not a gift you can easily return. Yes, you can paint over an existing design or have it removed altogether, either way you will feel the pain in your wallet, long after the scarring has healed.
I know from experience that it can be intimidating and stressful finding the right design at a tattoo parlour. For my first tattoo I was persuaded to change my mind on a design and now I'm going through the process of a cover up.
What I suggest is you check-out my site where you will find a number of articles on my favourite tattoos. For instance, you will be able to read a brief history on tribal, dragon, Japanese, Chinese, tattoo sleeves, tattoos for women, and many more, as well as the best sites to find your favourite tattoo design.
